It was March 20, the day of the Mr. GQ pageant. Had I not been hopelessly in love with/stalking one of the contestants, I would’ve brushed the notion of attending aside, but I was enthralled—he would be there, on stage, showing an entire auditorium what a wonderful person he was.
The day seemed perfect—in second period, he asked if I would be there. I told him I would, and proceeded to have wonderful thoughts and fantasies about him. I don’t remember much else from the school day
